The course catalogue of Honours Classes for 2016-2017 is now available online! Read about the various topics that these extracurricular courses will cover, from history of migration to biomedical technology to creative writing.


'Have an answer ready! A fallacy if need be...'

The As-Soennah mosque in the Schilderswijk, The Hague. The mosque where young Muslims of all kinds, moderate to orthodox, find a place. We, students from the Honours Class Denktank: Islam in Nederland (Think tank: Islam in The Netherlands), paid a visit to the mosque and went to talk with its imam.


Finding the truth - Easier said than done?

Starting March 2015, the Honours Class ‘Miscarriages of justice and fact-finding in (Dutch) criminal procedure’ has given me, a student of Education and Child Studies, the opportunity to submerge myself into this area of law, together with twelve other enthusiastic students.

The Second World War is a never ending experience for those who lived it. This is what Cleveringa professor Carol Gluck and her students concluded following a critical reading of ‘De Aanslag’ by Harry Mulisch. Mulisch’s novel took centre stage in Gluck’s Honours seminar.


Welcome to the world of science

Starting in October 2014, twenty students from Leiden University were introduced to the world of science during their Honours Class ‘Gewicht in de Schaal’ (‘Scaled Weight’), an interdisciplinary lecture by Prof. Dr. W.J.M. Voermans. One participant has shared her experiences with us.
