About the Honours Programme
In addition to our standard educational programmes, Leiden University offers extra opportunities, extracurricular, to small groups of students whose performance is excellent and whose abilities and wishes go beyond the standard programmes.
The Honours Programme is one of the programmes which has been developed to offer talented and motivated students the opportunity to attain a higher level of personal development.
The Leiden University Honours Programme 2010-2011 offers 12 Honours Classes (5 EC) in different fields of study. Honours Classes are extracurricular. Most Honours Classes consist of 8 lectures, preferably held in English, often taught by internationally recognized scientists, that require active participation bythe students attending.
The classes are intended for all third-year Dutch and international bachelor's students of Leiden University. Each Honours Class will be limited to a maximum of twelve to fifteen participants.
While the exact starting dates of the various classes can vary, they will all take place in the spring of 2011. The classes will be preceded (of followed) by lunch for the students and the guest lecturers.
A joint graduation ceremony will be held on Friday June 24th 2011 to present certificates to those who have participated in these Honours Classes.
